Recommend it for those who need a solid stay
The location was superb, next to the metro, made exploring easy. I found a great little pub in the basement, even got a drink discount as a guest which was nice!
It was a tad pricey but honestly, given what you get, I'm okay with it.

While the location is convenient and the unique charm of the hotel adds character, it doesn't quite make up for the outdated facilities and noise levels. The staff was friendly, but I encountered cleanliness issues that were concerning. Overall, it's a mixed experience, leaning towards the positive based on its potential.

Location of the Baron Hotel is fantastic, right in the heart of the embassy district. Easy access to attractions and just a short walk to the Dupont Circle Metro station. Staff greeted me warmly upon arrival. They allowed me to drop off my luggage before check-in, which was super convenient. My room was small but charming, with natural light streaming in from large windows. The air conditioning worked well, keeping the room comfortable despite the heat outside. The bathroom featured modern fixtures and was kept clean daily. Overall, I enjoyed hanging out at the bar. the atmosphere was relaxed, and the food was tasty. However, the elevator situation was inconvenient—an old style that required sliding doors. It made navigating with luggage a hassle. Also, the lack of vending machines in the hotel was a downside. I had to walk to a nearby store for snacks. The noise from the bar below was noticeable at times, especially late at night. Sometimes it disrupted my sleep. I would have appreciated more soundproofing in the room.

missingWrote a review on Jul 24great locationnostalgic elevatorself-service coffeedated interior
The location shines, just a stone's throw from DuPont Circle, making it easy to explore the heart of the city. The nostalgic sliding door with the old-style elevator adds character, and the self-service area offers a nice spot for tea and good coffee.
The building feels like it’s seen better days, with a noticeably aged interior that doesn’t charm as much as it should. The old elevator is painfully slow, and the rooms have an odd smell. There were no tissues or decent toiletries, just basic bar soap and shampoo. Additionally, the noise levels are a real concern, especially with the bar and comedy club below—expect late-night foot traffic and laughter wafting up through thin walls.

Accessibility improvements needed for seniors, especially with stairs.

The Double Room was pretty basic but comfortable enough. It had a nostalgic vibe with the old wallpaper and the AC unit was a little noisy. The bed was decent, and the room was clean, which was a plus. Lighting was good, and the windows let in a nice amount of light. Not super spacious, but it worked for me. Overall, it’s not fancy, but I found it cozy and serviceable.

It was just a smart choice for a temporary stay in Washington with excellent value for money. The hotel had a pot of hot coffee and cold water available 24 hours in the lobby, which was a nice touch. Make sure to go to the Dupont Circle exit for easier access to the hotel.

missingWrote a review on Jun 15clean roomstunning viewtricky elevatorpoor serviceworn entrance
The room was impeccably clean, offering a stunning view of the historical Presbyterian Church, truly a postcard scene. Proximity to the DuPont Metro Station and nearby restaurants made it convenient. However, the elevator was tricky to use, and customer service at check-in was lacking, creating a frustrating experience. Additionally, the entrance felt a bit worn down, detracting from the overall impression.
